ITALIAN
EXCELLENCE
SINCE 1919.

THE HISTORY

VillaZarri_fronte copia.jpg

The Oro Pilla brandy was born from the centuries-old experience of the Pilla brothers, who founded the distillery of the same name in Venice in 1919. The pursuit of excellence combined with a strong entrepreneurial spirit soon fostered the fame of its liqueurs.

In 1944, the company headquarters was bombed and the Fratelli Pilla were forced to transfer the distillery to the island of Murano. The post-war period was a very difficult period of recovery, made all the more challenging by a change in consumption and an increase in competition.

However, the Distillery was supported by the Zarri-Fini family, originally from Bologna, who acquired it in 1954.
Thanks to the huge advertising investments, Oro Pilla once again prospered as never before, becoming, in 1961, the protagonist of a commercial made for Carosello, supported by two exceptional testimonials: the musician Xavier Cugat and his wife, the actress and singer Abbe Lane.

It was in the 1970s that Italian brandy reached its maximum splendour and fame, with sales of over a million bottles.

Oro Pilla is the result of a complex production process, faithful to the original recipe for over a hundred years, to guarantee its excellent quality.

A brandy with character, stemming from a skilful process divided into two phases aimed at maximising the original aromas of the wine: the distillation, partly continuous "column" and partly discontinuous "alembic" of the Charentais type and the blending of spirits aged in Italy for at least three years in French oak barriques and Slavonian oak casks.
